Freight Terminal Management

Freight Terminal Management was established in 2005. ARG considers that a key element of creating effective above rail competition is to provide open access to terminals as well as provisioning and maintenance services for freight users.

To pursue this, ARG established and now manages the ATEC Freight Terminals Trust. The Trust’s goal is to design and construct inter‐modal and bulk freight terminals on strategically located properties.

Currently, the Trust has 2 key properties for development:

  • Charlton, Queensland where it owns approximately 160ha of land 12 kms West of the Toowoomba CBD. Development consent has been granted for this site to develop one of the largest intermodal bulk road and rail freight terminal in South East Queensland

  • Parkes/Forbes, New South Wales. The Trust is currently seeking consent for the development of a similar facility to Charlton on a large parcel of land it has access to in the area of a fast developing transport/freight hub.
