1 Mount Isa to Townsville or Abbott Point – Northern Rail

  • ATEC is currently working with two leading miners in Mount Isa, in assessing the feasibility of building a new open access rail corridor from Mount Isa to Townsville (in excess of 1,000km), or Abbott Point.
  • The feasibility is almost complete and the results will shortly be considered.


2. Wonarah to Tennant Creek – Wonarah Railway

  • ATEC has entered into a MOU with Minemakers Limited for the pre-feasibility assessment in developing an open access standard gauge rail corridor of approx 300km from Wonarah to Tennant Creek
  • ATEC has the equity right to upto 50% of this project and is in the process of updating its initial assessment of this corridor in 2004/05.
  • On the corridor proving viable, ATEC will move to submit and obtain an government clearance to build, own and operate the rail corridor
